(June 10, 2011) –  Dana Andreski, Lowry Park Administrator, was presented with the Administrator of the Year award during a special recognition program held at the Embassy Suites in Denver, CO. The recognition program was part of the Colorado Activity Professionals’ Association’s (CAPA) annual conference.

The award is given to a nursing home (or assisted living administrator) for demonstrating a strong commitment of support for activities professionals and initiatives that promote quality of life for residents. Nomination letters were received from many communities throughout Colorado for CAPA members to review. The winner is selected by a panel comprised of a member from each CAPA chapter.  Susan Whytock, CAPA member and Director of Life Enrichment at Lowry Park, emceed the award ceremony and could scarcely contain her excitement in announcing that the award recipient for 2011 was her very own administrator. Dana approached the podium to offer a hug and support for Susan as she continued to read the letter. Susan expressed her heartfelt gratitude of Dana and the leadership she provides each and every day.  ”None of us working in health care do it to earn awards and trophy’s, but when it happens, it’s really cool” said Dana Andreski. “It takes everyone to make an administrator successful and to make a community thrive – I am so thankful for the team I work with.” Dana continued to acknowledge her team and the management company, Quality Life Management, LLC (QLM). Bob Jones, COO and Jay Moskowitz, Owner and CEO of QLM were present for the awards ceremony. “Dana is a consummate professional and has a passion for working with the aging population. Her commitment to excellence is apparent and we are all very proud that she was recognized here today.” Dana acknowledged her parents who were present for the ceremony and stated, “I think all of us (as kids) want to make our parents proud – I hope I have accomplished this today.” In closing, Dana offered these final sentiments, “Activity professionals play an important role in the lives of the seniors we serve - they are asked to change a person’s quality of life and find a way to do so on a limited budget. Thank you for all that you do.”
